I have joint custody order and the other parents makes psychological appointments for our 7 year old son without me knowing. Our 7 year old son was seen and the father refuse to provide me with the psychologist information address phone number and area of the Dr. He has me restricted from medical insurance information for our children. In our court order it states that both parents must confer in making decisions on the following school, daycare, religious activities, psychiatric, psychological, mental health, counseling or therapy, doctors, dental, health professionals, participate in extracurricular activities, out of country and out of state travel.
If you have joint legal custody, then the other parent should absolutely give you the psychologist's information. You can file an ex party motion with the court requesting that he enforce the order (by informing you of the doctor's information) and that he provide you all information prior to your child attending. I would suggest hiring an attorney to help in this matter.
I concur with my colleagues. You may want to file an Ex Parte Hearing to find out the name of the Psychologist and let the Court know that you object to this being done without your consent. Contact an experienced family law attorney in your area to assist you in this matter. Good luck.
