The LLC has two members. Though we haven't use it to do any business. We haven't applied a Federal tax number either. Just wondering tax wise, are we ok? If we decided to start doing business in 2015, do we need to file tax for the last three years?
Generally speaking, you don't need to file a return unless you have earned revenue during the year. You must start filing income tax returns when you start doing business. However, it may be worthwhile to file "zero" returns for those prior years to start the statute of limitations running. Depending on the state the LLC is registered, their may be franchise taxes due however.
These are only my "off the cuff" answers based on my past experience in tax and law. Although I try to provide correct information, I have not done any significant analysis on your specific situation. You should not consider this legal advice, nor should you assume that my answer creates (nor does it create) an attorney-client relationship.
