I was notified by the county clerk's website (it has been filed but I have not received a document from the court) that I have a lawsuit with a credit card for 1582. I contacted portfolio but they said I had to contact their lawyers. They said I could do a agreed judgment to avoid the lawsuit. I know they'll notify the court on their end but what do I do?
If you come to an agreement as to the amount and terms of repayment then an agreed judgment is a good way to go. Their lawyer will handle the court filings. When the debt is paid they will file a release of the judgment (they should, anyway).
