If i have a habitat for hamanity house that i still live in and they are gonna disclose on it and start the process march 1st can i file bankruptcy and keep my house if its not sold yet
You likely do not have any equity in the house and a bankruptcy filing will at least temporarily stop the foreclosure. If you file a Ch 7, you will be in the house only a few more months. If you file a Chapter 13 and can afford to catch up on the mortgage over time, you may be able to retain the house for years to come. If you have a foreclosure date, you need to move quickly to hire an attorney to help you with this. Filing on your own is a great way to lose the house because you don't know the bankruptcy rules and process.
