I am an immigrant that came to the U.S with the help of my wife. I live in the same house with her,her siblings and her folks and we also have a daughter together. I live in the house as a tenant because I pay rent. I have always be abused and discriminated. During a heated argument I was attacked by my wife, the two brothers and her uncle. I tried to defend myself by grabbing the table lamp which was unsuccessful which led to few cuts on my hand. I eventually found an escape out of the house when the attack didn't stop. When the cops came she lied I hit her and now I am being charged for 5 count simple assault, weapons charge and the last charge I can't remember.i would like to know my chances of this charges been thrown out and would also need an attorney to help defend this charges
First, you should not be posting details of your case in this forum as it can be used as an admission against you. If you are looking to retain private counsel, you should start meeting for consultations. If you are not able to afford private counsel you should begin applying for the public defender. No one can tell you what chance you have to seek dismissal with out knowing more about the case. And that is not what you should be looking for. You should be looking for someone with the experience to assert your rights as you face a criminal record and incarceration. This may also impact your immigration status.
You need to stop posting information about the case on a public forum. You need to hire a good local criminal defense attorney as soon as possible.
There is certainly a chance of having the charges dismissed. However, your attorney would need to review the discovery and employ a defense strategy. Call around Avvo and hire a defense attorney ASAP.

The chances the charges will be thrown out are slim. You need to speak to an immigration attorney as well. I suggest retaining an experienced criminal defense attorney ASAP. You can explain Ll the facts to the attorney as craft a defense.
From the facts you describe it appears you have a defense against these charges. However, protecting your I migration status is a priority because you could be deported. You need to defend these allegations vigorously.
Please be advised my answers to questions does not constitute legal advice and you should not rely on it, due to the fact that we have never met, I have not been aprised of the facts in you case nor have I reviewed any documents.
No one can tell you the chances of successfully defending the charges in this forum. MOre information is needed. You need to hire a lawyer. Preferably one who is knowledgable in both immigration law and criminal defense because the two are very closely related for you.
Stop posting details of the events online where anyone (including the prosecutor and police) can read them.
