I also had received 3 warnings due to driver changing lanes when unsafe, following a vehicle closer than reasonable and prudent, as well as unsafe passing to right of overtaken vehicle. This all had occurred in Ocean City, MD on the strip.
Request a trial date (not a waiver hearing) within 30 days of the ticket. Maryland law now requires that you affirmatively request a court date. If the police officer does not appear, you will be acquitted.
If the police officer appears and you are convicted, the judge can offer you probation before judgment which avoids the points and keeps your insurance rates from increasing. Taking a driving improvement class in advance may increase your chances of getting a PBJ, but will not result in the charges being dropped.

Many states allow point waiver school. Search for a local traffic law attorney here on AVVO by using the Find a Lawyer tab at the top of the page. Most offer free initial consultations. Call a couple up. Easy to use. Free too.
This response is only a basic answer to your question and is not intended to be legal advise. It is your job to hire an attorney and to discuss the specifics of this question with him or her. I am not giving you specific legal advise and there is no attorney-client relationship created by my answer to your question. The choice of an attorney is an important decision that you must make and that choice should not be made upon adverting alone.
Yes, it will help, but if you already have points or recent citations, chances are a judge will reduce the points from 2 points to 1 point. If your record is clean (no convictions or points) then a judge may strike any finding of guilt and grant you "probation before judgment" which means the charge will not appear on your driving record and you'll have no points. The only way the charges go away is if you're found not guilty. Request a trial date.
