I’m 17 years old with a clean record I don’T know whether to plea guilty or not guilty in this case.if I plea either what will happen to me ? Is there a way I can get this out of my background.I'm not sure what to do since I don’t know how the whole system works
You should not plead guilty. Ideally, you should hire an attorney to represent you for the best outcome. Theft is considered a crime of moral turpitude, and any level of theft conviction can cause serious problems for you in the future. Your goal should be to receive deferred adjudication or some other diversion program that will allow the case to be dismissed so that you will not have a final conviction on your record. Given your age, there are likely many options for you that will allowyiu to keep it off your record. Whatever you do, do not just plead guilty.
Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals.
