I'm 20 years old, been licensed since June of 2016. I have a clean record, no accidents and only a parking ticket from 2018, but today I got pulled over for driving 94 mph on a 65 mph road. I wasn't given an amount for a fine, only asked to appear in court two months from now. The only thing the cop told me was that I could get my license revoked if I don't show up. The incident put 6 points to my license. What are the odds I'll lose my license, or have to serve jail time? What should I do to prepare for my court date from now until then? I'm really nervous about this.
I live in Pueblo, CO, but this happened in Fremont County, so I was asked to attend court in Cañon City, if that makes any difference.
You should consult with an attorney familiar with the prosecutors and judges in Fremont County. Prosecutors and Judges in the various counties around the state differ in how they look at cases, and that is just as true with speeding cases as it is with other types of cases.
Search for an attorney, familiar with Fremont County, who will provide a free consultation. He or she should be able to answer your questions and thereby reduce your stress level.
