I was pulled over last week in a routine stop (2/3/18). The routine was taking awhile. I was asked to get out of the car. I suddenly was notified there was warrant out for me. The warrant was for a PC273.5 since July 2017. It was my 40th birthday. I had never been in handcuffs. I had no idea what was happening. It being a Saturday, no one could tell me what was going on until Monday. Got myself Bailed out. Still in wonder of what was going on. I went to sign papers at the Bail Bonds office on Monday the 5th. We discovered there was a court hearing back in June of 2017. I realized my ex-girlfriend must have made a report when I had to asked her to leave in February 2017. I was just hearing all of this for the first time. Is there anyway this could have been avoided? Does the fact that I had no notice of the court hearing mean anything in this? The woman that made the aligations now lives 1,200 miles away. It’s certain she won’t be involved if she is needed as a witness for the DA.
None of that makes any difference. You need to retain an attorney and defend the case.
