Was hit by an old boyfriend that police discovered a video of him hitting me on a phone they got from his home. He is in trouble for several things I think. I never pressed charges but keep getting information sent to me from the prosecutor of that state. I cannot and do not want to be involved.
Filing charges is up to the Prosecutor. Sometimes, charges are file against someone even though the Prosecutor knows that it will be hard to make a case. Perhaps that is what is happening in your case. Perhaps the Prosecutor is really after him on some other matters and your case is just being thrown in. The farther away you are, the less likely then will want you to testify.
This response is only a basic answer to your question and is not intended to be legal advise. It is your job to hire an attorney and to discuss the specifics of this question with him or her. I am not giving you specific legal advise and there is no attorney-client relationship created by my answer to your question. The choice of an attorney is an important decision that you must make and that choice should not be made upon adverting alone.
