I was charged for felony distribution in New Jersey. I moved to North Carolina, and probation was transferred down here. I was sentenced to 18 months and have 3 left. During this quarantine my mental health has been not so great, and I smoked marijuana. If I fail my drug test can my probation officer in North Carolina make the decision of what happens, or does it have to go through the New Jersey courts?
Yes, if you fail a drug tested this your probation officer, you will be charged with a probation violation here in Brunswick County since your probation was transferred. You will also be charged with a second violation of admitting to drug use if you acknowledge the illegal activity with your PO. Don’t admit to anything!
