I bought the car at the end of July ask the seller to repair some items including some issues with the engine now after the warranty expired my engine failed and I'm already into the payments to the finance company what can I do and is the dealer responsible for this issue...oh yes I had the serpentine belts replaced for precautions..
A warranty requires that the buyer present the vehicle for repairs to one of the authorized repair shops to have the covered system and/or part fixed. That initial presentation must be within the warranty period and mileage. If the dealer fails to fix the problem within a reasonable amount of time, the warranty coverage as to that system or part not fixed does not expire until it has been fixed, so it can be presented again for warranty repairs, even though the warranty period and mileage have passed. There may be other warranty coverage that is available and the dealer/seller may have violated other laws not noted in this posting. Save all documents in a safe place in a file at your home or office, not in the vehicle itself, and consult with a lemon law or consumer fraud attorney to discuss this further. There are time limits, known as the statute of limitations, so I would not delay.
