I'm in sales and depend on leads to make my quota. My boss called me into his office to discuss my not making my sales numbers. I did a little digging and noticed that in a 5 week period, the other guy I work with received 90 more leads than I did. Our lead system is on an automatic round-robin system (one for you, one for me, one for you, one for me). Less leads mean less opportunities. I was on a team prior and was performing admirably but was moved to a team that has struggled for the past year. Both my supervisor and co-worker are hispanic; I am Black. If the team's performance doesn't improve, someone will be fired, most likely me because I am underperforming, again, I feel, due to the lack of leads not being assigned to me. I don't want to believe race has anything to do with it..
Is Texas an "AT-WILL" state? If so, your boss can
terminate you for: good cause; bad cause; or NO cause.
You can also quit the same. You would have to PROVE
any type of racial bias if you sue or make a complaint.
If the TEAM is underperforming then the entire team
should be terminated. Why is the other salesman
getting 90 more leads? Do you have a contract -or-
"Employer-Employee Handbook?" What does it say
about this "round-robin" system . . . if anything? Ask
boss WHY other salesman got 90 more leads.
