I just discovered I am pregnant and was sentenced to an extended amount of time in jail, 6 months. What would be needed to file a motion for reconsideration?
The Motion you can file representing yourself need not be formal or fancy. It can be in the form of a letter to the judge (copy to the DA) - it should be written clearing - mention Rule 35 (b) of the Colorado Rules of Criminal Procedure - and state simply and clearly why you want the sentence to change. Ask for a hearing also - as you may have a better chance of winning if you can appeal to the judge personally.

Mr. Steinberg provided a great link for you to read the information that you need to learn. I suggest that you follow his advice and submit a clear and concise motion with a request for a hearing.
R. Jason de Groot, Esq. We do not have an attorney-client relationship. I am not your lawyer. The statements I make do not constitute legal advice. Any statements made by me are based upon the limited facts you have presented, and under the premise that you will consult with a local attorney. This is not an attempt to solicit business. Consider hiring an attorney (like the excellent Mr. Steinberg, for instance) to give you some guidance, however, yours should be a very compelling motion (or, as suggested, even just a letter) before the judge with or without an attorney. I've included a link to the Colorado Judicial Branch Self-Help form bank and their blank Petition for Postconviction Relief Pursuant to Criminal Procedure 35(c). Good luck.
