I live in Port St Lucie, Florida and I am looking to divorce my husband of 27 years. Our home is in Les Pendens due to his non payment, which I wasn't made aware of until recently. I don't know where to start. I just want out of this marriage and I am looking for alimony support.
You need to consult with an attorney in your area regarding your concerns to determine what, if any, legal fees you could afford. Most attorneys will refer you to any pro bono or legal aid agencies in your area if he or she is not able to help you.
Unless you are charged with a crime there is no guarantee of free legal representation.
Still, you can check with and apply for local Legal Aid.

Wishing you luck and hoping that I have been helpful in answering your question.
First, second and third: No attorney-client relationship exists by virtue of any Q&A with Michael A. Haber, Esq. on Avvo. Fourth: Anything that you post on Avvo (or on similar sites) or on any social media is by its nature public. It is essentially an admission / confession and can be introduced into evidence as a statement against your interest in a subsequent legal proceeding. Once posted you lose any reasonable expectation of privacy, so, as this is an open forum (with no privilege attached), please be extra careful when considering what to post online (forewarned is forearmed.)
If you do not have the funds to retain an attorney, I would suggest that you contact Florida Rural Legal Services as they may be able to get you pro bono representation.
This response is to an unknown person and is for general information purposes only. Under the terms of AVVO policies, an attorney/client relationship is not formed by the answering of questions posted on a public portal. The attorney answering these questions may or may not have an attorney-client relationship with the opposing party. Other conflicts may exist with the person asking the question. A conflict check must be performed in order for the attorney to determine ifa conflict exists under the Rules Regulating the Florida Bar should the questioner desire to use the attorney's services.
