I was driving with family and friends through Oregon when a cop came and said I was driving closely, whereas I was not at all 'close' as he alleged. I am from SF and it's so far to go to Oregon Court where I got the ticket.
What are my options? I do want to contest so I do not get points and also the fine as I clearly was not at fault.
Some traffic courts offer diversion programs to avoid having the traffic violation on your record. If you would like to contest the traffic ticket and not travel to Oregon, you may have the option of writing a letter to the court, which an attorney can assist you with. More facts are needed, such as the courthouse and the number of traffic tickets that you have previously received. You should contact an attorney to assist you in determining what options you may have.
