I have applied for an asylum through a lawyer 6 months ago and my work permit status finally has changed to "being produced" so what does that mean? when will I receive my work permit in mail?
Being produced means that the USCIS has approved your request for a work permit and your EAD is "being produced". You should received your card within the next few days.
Mr. Shusterman's (former INS Trial Attorney, 1976-82) response to your question is general in nature, as not all the facts are known to him. You should retain an attorney experienced in immigration law to review all the facts in your case in order to receive advice specific to your case. Mr. Shusterman's statement above does not create an attorney/client relationship.
It means that your EAD card is being prepared(produced) and you should receive it soon.
I am a lawyer, but I am not your lawyer (unless you have been in my office and signed a contract). This communication is not intended as legal advice, and no attorney client relationship results. Please consult your own attorney for legal advice. less
It's on its way. And it's good that you know to apply for asylum through a lawyer as almost all asylum cases without a lawyer are summarily denied. These are questions your lawyer can answer.
The above statement should not be construed as legal advice, does not create an attorney-client relationship, and is provided purely for informational purposes. You are advised to seek legal advice from an attorney and NOT AN UNLICENSED PARALEGAL SERVICE for any legal questions you have.
