They stole my green card .
How will you prove that you are "a green card holder" if you are not holding a green card in your hands?
The law does requires an alien to have the alien's immigration papers close to the alien.
As a practical matter, the airlines is probably not going to let you board the plane if you do not have proofs that you will be admitted into the US. If you (or any other passenger of the airlines) are not admitted into the US, the law provides that the airlines is the one responsible for taking the alien away from the US. So, the airlines does not want that expense and will require you to prove you will be admitted.
You likely need to file a Form I-90 to replace the green card. You can make an InfoPass appointment with your local USCIS office to have the stamp on your passport.
