On my license it states (IN LARGE RED LETTERS) that I am a Temp. Visitor expiry 9/30/2011. If I am pulled over by the police will I receive JUST a ticket and fine or is the penalty more significant. I am getting married soon and renewing my visa but the DMV cannot/will not give me a new foreign expiry date until I show them my new visa, which requires me to leave the country etc...
Much depends upon what you are pulled over for. If, for example, you are pulled over for reckless driving or DWI, this could expose you to criminal charges and possible immigration issues if you are convicted. Being pulled over for a busted tail light or a cell phone ticket - not so much.
