Although you are not a racist, making a comment like that would not be prudent. We are all created equal. Best to put it behind you.
Thank you for your question. The coworker who reported you to HR did not break any law, nor did s/he commit a tort for which a claim would be warranted. Your most productive path is not to make such statements at the workplace in the future, even if you believe them in private. Saying that you are not a racist, yet also telling coworkers that you do not like black people, would appear to most people to be a contradiction, even if you do not see it that way. You have a right to your own opinions and contradictions, but nonetheless, carefully separate your professional and personal life to avoid incidents. This will likely put an end to any future clashes that might result in legally significant words and/or deeds. Take care.
The employee contacted Human Resources and documented a claim of discrimination voiced by, and admitted to, by you. You can contact human resources to discuss your questions and concerns, but diversity in the workplace is a very real reality as are the consequences. You can choose to learn from this a s teaching experience and comply and move forward with your career as a leader at this company, or not.

Do you have any recourse? About what? You simply got a warning letter. Your best recourse is not to make statements that, to most people, sound racist.
