If you're still a sole proprietor use the same EIN number
My responses on this website do not constitute a consultation, nor do they establish an attorney-client relationship. Only a written retention agreement signed by client and myself will establish an attorney-client relationship. Please do not message or phone me for additional advice as the discussions would be outside this forum and would not be visible to the public (the exception being for serious prospective clients).
That is hard to say with so little detail. If your other business is so closely related that it would be considered growth of the other business you probably can use the EIN. If the other business was a travel agency or other business you might want a new EIN so you don't confuse, commingle, or other wise cause yourself bookkeeping problems. You should talk to an attorney who handles small business entities.
Every thing that I am saying here is my opinion and it is not based on any particular case. My response is just unsupported general information. If it helps you to resolve an issue that's great but do not rely on it as legal advice because it is not based on the facts in your case and it is not based on any specific legal research. Answering this question creates no relationship between the writer and reader of the writing. I am not your attorney now, nor have I been on the past. If you just want to comment please do that on AVVO where the price is $0.00. I do typically respond to all AVVO comments.
Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.
