Me and my wife filled form I-698 to go from temporary to permanent and they sent request for more information. They stated that evidence shows that we have diffrent addresses which is my dads house and i have always got a lot of mail there because i used to travel close to 100% and then when i moved with my wife we were planing on moving pretty quickly so was gonna wait to make most changes then. It took little longer than i thought though. My office is close to my parents though so never a big deal. We gave them tons of information initially though and thought there would never be any issues. Now that they want more info we are scrambling.
I guess overall we were a little negligent in keeping appropriate records and switching things over and etc etc but we are professionals who are always busy and really in love and happily married so never thought there would be a problem.
What do you recommend? What if they are not satisfied what can happen?
I recommend you consult an attorney and have him or her check whether your response was sufficient and accurate. It is hard to guide you without all the facts.
This is not fatal but go consult with a local immigration lawyer who has been around long enough to handle a case like yours.
