If it's still applicable I would like an attorney to represent me. Please contact me
Re-classifying so immigration lawyers will see it.
Don't expect anyone to contact you to represent you. This is the Q&A page of the site.
Avvo doesn't pay us for these responses, and I'm not your lawyer just because I answer this question or respond to any follow-up comments. If you want to hire me, please contact me. Otherwise, please don't expect a further response. We need an actual written agreement to form an attorney-client relationship. I'm only licensed in CA and you shouldn't rely on this answer, since each state has different laws, each situation is fact specific, and it's impossible to evaluate a legal problem without a comprehensive consultation and review of all the facts and documents at issue.
It is not clear which type of ancient immigration benefit you qualify for, and you should consult with an experienced immigration lawyer to determine whether you meet the requirements of either, as not all of the eligibility criteria are clear-cut, and many types of criminal record or departure and unlawful reentry would disqualify you. You may be referring to "Registry," requiring unbroken continuous physical presence in the US since January 1, 1972, or you may be referring to the Legalization program under IRCA (the Immigration Reform & Control Act of 1986), which required continuous presence from Jan. 1, 1982 through Nov. 6, 1986, and timely filing under 245A - late filings allowed only for those covered by the LULAC and CSS litigation.
This is general information only, and is not intended as a substitute for legal advice. Communications in an online forum do not create an attorney-client relationship. For legal advice specific to your circumstances, you must consult an attorney in a private, confidential setting.
