Over 15 years ago I was sentenced to Calif state prison for the minimum sentence for stealing two cans of Coors, PC 666, petty theft w/ priors. The charge was elevated for prior thefts. Under prop 47 can I petition the court for a reduction to a misdemeanor?
Prop 47 was just passed. No one knows how it will be implemented, yet.

From my understanding, it is retroactive. As these are non violent felonies, I believe they will qualify. Know, though, that the proposition just passed, and its implementation and interpretation is still being formulated.
Probably not. We don't know how it will work yet, but it's quite likely not that retroactive.

It seems that you would be able to get a reduction to a misdemeanor, unless you have any of the disqualifying priors. You will have to file a petition to get the reduction, since you already have been sentenced. Give it a few more days though, people are still trying to iron out all the details on how those petitions will be handled.
