My husband filed for a divorce which was finalized September 1st, 2015. The divorce was done in Arkansas, and I live in Oklahoma. The divorce papers does not state that I can change my name back to my maiden name. How can I change my name if the Arkansas divorce papers doesn't state anything about a name change? I don't have hundreds of dollars to do it. I'm a single mother on a very very limited income.
You should have done the name change in your divorce. Seek an attorney to do a name change here in Oklahoma.
If the name change was not granted as part of the divorce, then you need to file a Petition with the court requesting a name change. Use the Find a Lawyer tab at the top of the page to locate a local attorney.
My response is merely a suggestion. I am not licensed to practice law in OK, and my response is not legal advice.

If you don't want to file for a name change in your county, pay and wait the time for publication, if you contact the lawyer in Arkansas, you could ask if he or she thinks the Judge in Arkansas would consider an Order "Nunc Pro Tunc" which would add to the provision of the Decree that you name was also changed as if it had been set out within the order when filed.
There may be much less if any cost associated with doing that, but you will have to take action and would be more likely to get relief if you didn't know until sometime later that the Decree had been entered without the name change.
