I am working for a non-profit organization under a 2-year program, and they sponsored me a cap-exempt H1B for 2 years (I worked with them right after college under OPT for F1 visa). I am in finance.
1) In short, how much would it cost for my next non-profit employer to transfer my visa? How is the process different from the initial application? I would only use up 1 year of my H1B when I make the move. Do I have to keep working in the exact same role in the future company?
2) Is this possible for me to continue working at the same organization but in different department (different position)?
1. Yes, the process/cost will be identical.
2. Yes, the current organization can file an amendment to the H ... as long as your degree still 'fits' with the job description.
