I am in the process of getting the J1 waiver per Conrad 30. I am a physician. So far here is what has happened so far. DOS sent a favorable recommendation on 12/19/16. However, its been more than 2 months and I still haven't received anything from USCIS (not even a receipt). I don't know what to do. How to go about this situation?

The answer above is only general in nature cannot be construed as legal advice, given that not enough facts are known. It is your responsibility to retain a lawyer to analyze the facts specific to your particular situation in order to give you specific advice. Specific answers will require cognizance of all pertinent facts about your case. Any answers offered on Avvo are of a general nature only, and are not meant to create an attorney-client relationship.
Have you reached out to the attorney who helped file the waiver, if there was one. He or she should be able to direct you. INFOPASS will not likely lead to assistance. Other than your attorney, you may seek your Senator or Congressional representative help in getting answers. Go to their website, sign off on their release of information form, and communicate with their liaison. Ask your proposed employer to weigh in with the US Congressional or Senatorial liaison since they are a constituent business in the area. Failure of the DOS and the USCIS to act efficiently is part of the entire immigration failure of legal immigration and our representatives should be bombarded with this type of information.
