Is there a way one can find the records for a marriage in the US? It would be hard to go county to county and state to state? Lawyers must have a quicker way. Can you help me?
Florida has a statewide official records database that lets you search for marriage records, among other public records, in the state. https://www.myfloridacounty.com/ori/index.do
If you are not sure what state the marriage may have taken place, you may need to hire a private investigator to assist you. Since it appears you may be contemplating a prenuptial agreement, a private investigator may be helpful in finding any other information you will need such as assets and/or debts & liabilities that may affect your decision.
In addition to hiring a private investigator to check other states, there are some nationwide data bases, including Ancestry.com that, for a fee, (though probably less than a private investigator)may be able to check across a much wider database.
Best of luck,

My comments should not be taken as legal advice, as the full facts of each case are necessary to give a legal opinion. Further, this advice does not create an attorney-client relationship between the parties.
Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals.
