I am 8 months pregnant and due on September 12 and my Landlord just told me that he will not renew the lease on September 30 (for personal use). I asked if I can either break the lease and move on August 1 (before any risk of delivery) or extend to October 30 so I can be able to deliver, recover and move. But he refused both options. What are my rights ?
There are no rights other than you negotiate. If you cannot make a deal you do what you need to do for you and your family.
Now, why did your landlord tell you his reason for not offering a renewal lease?
If you aren't Rent Stabilized there was no need for giving a reason. If you are Rent Stabilized you were already entitled to the renewal lease since the landlord did not serve a notice of lease refusal on grounds of personal use at least 90 days before the lease expires.

I agree with my colleague. It is important to determine whether your apartment is rent regulated or free market as it substantially impacts your rights. Your reference to the landlord refusing to renew the lease "for personal use" suggests the apartment may be rent regulated. If you are not sure if your apartment is rent regulated you may start your investigation by making a simply inquiry to the DHCR for the rent history for your apartment.
You should also understand that even if the apartment is not rent regulated, the landlord cannot simply throw you out at the expiration of your lease. Instead in NYC landlord's are required to commence cases in Housing Court to obtain a judgment of eviction before you can be evicted by the Marshal.
