I was driving with my girlfriend, who has a valid license. She's pregnant so when she drives she get car sick sometimes which is the only reason I was driving in the first place. We went through a license check and I explained everything. They were super cool about it, but still had to write the citation since I was driving illegally. I'm already on probation for some things that happened a few years back and was about to have all my fines paid off literally the next morning, so I'm Aldo wondering would this affect my probation?
To beat it get a license. A true NOL is now an infraction so it won't revoke your probation. But is the charge DWLR? That's a bit more complicated. Get a lawyer.
Not to be construed as specific legal advice or attorney-client privileged. Advise you consult an Attorney for any legal issue. This does not establish any form of attorney-client relationship.
Are you more concerned about "beating this citTion" or actually driving legally- like with a valid license? If your girlfriend needs somebody to chauffeur her around, she eithe needs to use Uber or have everyone she rides with have a license.- just in case . Look at the NC DOT' s website under the DMV/driver's license section to find out what you need to do to get a license .Because having a license helps you both with the ticket and keeps you on good terms with your PO.
Is the charge driving without a license or driving while license revoked? There is a distinction.
If your license was just expired, you can just renew it, show it to the DA, and the case will be dismissed. As for violating your parole, I have to know the conditions of your parole to have a complete answer. I'd talk to your attorney for your previous offenses.
If this is an alcohol related suspension, a conviction will increase the likelihood of an issue with your probation. If you want to beat the citation, you should probably use Avvo to find an experienced local criminal defense attorney. They will be able to evaluate your situation and decide how to handle the case in light of the DA's policies. Best of luck!
