I have been pulled over a few weeks ago, speeding at 101 instead of 70.
I have called the court in Barstow last week, and they told me that I need to see the judge.
I would like to know what are the best and worst case scenario, but mostly what is the most likely to happen...
And if there is anything I can do to have get my case dismissed or at least get a lower fine and not get points nor license suspension.
Thank you in advance for your help.
There are no magic words that apply to every case. If you want the best result, you'll need a lawyer.
Although some lawyers say it's impossible, you might even be able to get traffic school if your lawyer can get the speed down to 99 mph. Most judges believe they can't let you do traffic school if you were more than 25 mph over the speed limit... but a well respected lawyer can gently educate the judge.
This answer is a general discussion of legal principles by a California lawyer. It does not create an attorney-client relationship. Free initial consultation applies only to individuals with current or potential criminal charges in Butte County, California and adjoining counties.
I agree with my colleague, Mr. Marshall, that you need to hire a lawyer to handle this case for you. Negotiating with the officer and dealing with the judge requires an experienced attorney. I would not recommend that you try and handle this case on your own.
