Hi I have applied to change my status from H4 to F1 .. I have got RFE saying i need to produce evidence of financial support for my study. My husband is supporting me for my study. He wants to show his Indian account as evidence of financial support. RFE says- "If you submit documentation that includes foreign currency denominations, please calculate their values in US dollars. Please include evidence of the source for the currency conversion exchange rates.".
Bank statement shows the amount in INR but i can convert it in USD. I am not sure
How should I show the amount in USD whether can I include a letter along with bank statements saying the figure in USD or there is any particular way ? and
How should I show the evidence of the source of currency conversion exchange rate?
Have some ease in your mind as to this particular RFE. This RFE seeks to find out that if you and/or your sponsor(s) have sufficient fund to fund your education. You can either get your bank (if you have a willing bank official) to have it calculated on their letter head (you still have to submit the originals along with the certified copies) with an exchange rate on the day of calculation, or simply you can use the bank statement on your own and calculate based on any bank or financial institution's exchange rate for the day. Remember to explain on how you came to that USD number. Any foreign language translation requires that the translator signs the document acknowledging that he or she is competent to translate and that the translation is accurate.
