She just transferred from another county where she was given a felony for 2nd degree comm burglary
The good news is the Prop 47 likely renders most of these charges misdemeanors, but the VC10851 remains a solid felony. Depends on her record and the skill of her attorney. She needs an attorney badly.
Experienced Criminal Defense Attorney--Former Prosecutor--Put my experience to work for you!
The best thing your girlfriend can do is to hire an experienced criminal defense attorney to represent her. If she cannot afford to hire an attorney, she should ask for the public defender at her first court appearance. As the other attorney has indicated, all but one charge are covered under Proposition 47. That initiative just passed, and the courts and attorneys are still implementing the changes mandated by the initiative.
I agree with my fellow attorneys. These are serious charges and your girlfriend needs immediate legal representation to avoid a serious sentence.
