My 16 year old brother stole a car and got into a car chase with the cops in Connecticut, ended up crossing over to the State of New York. Before he got caught he crashed the stolen car into a cop car. He was charged with 2 counts of attempted murder of a police officer possession of stolen property and he aldo had a BB gun on him. We are aware he is being charged as an adult .
As things stand, he is facing up to 25 years in prison, but hiring a skilled criminal attorney can drastically change things. He should not be charged with "attempted murder " as that is more than a bit overcharging. Once removed, the matter should end with a youthful offender status.
Any response I provide is meant as a general view on the subject and is no way intended to be specific legal advice to any individual. If you wish specific advice, you should hire and consult with an attorney of your choosing.
It may depend on what County the case is in and the Judge but a state prison sentence is possible.

Your brother needs competent legal representation, he is facing up to 25 years on the Attempted Murder charges alone. While he is youthful offender eligible, that is discretionary on the part of the judge.
