I was caught with my boyfriend and 2 friends, we were not doing anything bad, just sitting at a park, and the cop pulled up and we all had to call our parents it was all of our first times with the law, we have a court date soon, and we are all 15, 16, 17? what should I expect?
It depends on the judge. I take it that you were written into the Denver Municipal (City) Court. Expect a fine and court costs of between $50-$100.
The information provided in this answer does not create an attorney-client relationship and is not considered to be legal advice.
A small fine -- and a lecture from the court.
In no way am I offering you legal advice, and in no way has my comment created an attorney-client relationship. You are not to rely upon my note above in any way, but insted need to sit down with counsel and share all relevant facts before receiving fully-informed legal advice. If you want to be completely sure of your rights, you must sit down with an experienced criminal defense attorney to be fully aware of your rights.
Crazy, isn't it? I assume your parents were good with you being out but the cops weren't. Sorry, I am showing my age here - and my libertarian leanings. Things are not as they used to be.
With any luck, the judge will give you a lecture and let you go. Next time, why not hang out at home?
