I was drunk & my ex relapsed on meth he hasn’t done meth in over a year. we got in an argument and I told him to leave my apartment but he wanted to explain himself to me. I tried leaving but he kept pushing me and shoving me. I got a bruise on my head from falling on the floor I don’t know what I hit. he’s never been abusive at all. he relapsed on meth & I believe the meth is the reason he acted out like that. I called the cops and said I didnt want to press charges I just wanted him to leave my apartment but they arrested him anyways.
Because you suffered an injury, it's possible he could serve as much as four years in state prison. There's no way anybody on this website can predict what will actually happen in his case.

It depends on what he is charged with. Without knowing the charges, anyone can only guess.
My response is for informational purposes only. It does constitute legal advice. No attorney-client is created. If you desire legal advice, you should contact me or another attorney to speak directly.
It is out your hands whether charges will be filed. Once you called the police and they took a statement and pictures of the injury to you- it will be up to the DA as to the route and charges they will file. You cannot refuse to press charges. Your bf needs an attorney as he is looking possible jail time.
