I have two tickets on my record that I haven't paid yet an it's been over five years. I heard that after awhile the tickets go away is this true an if so how long?
Points drop off after 3 years and the ticket drops off after 7 or 10 depending on the ticket. OWI's never drop off.
The outstanding balance for the ticket and the default that has transpired from that ticket generally continually impacts you and your driving record. The actual impact from being convicted or admitting responsibility will have a time period of when it no long influences the record or license. With that said, there have been times where payments of these fees have went to collections for some clients, but that is rare. The best way to take care of these tickets is to contact and attorney and see what can be done procedurally so that you can reobtain your drivers license, which I'm assuming is an issue right now. Hopefully this helps answer your question. Best of luck.
