We filed papers with the USCIS in Aug 2017. I took my biometrics and received my EAC 3 months later but since then it’s been over 20 months and I am still not scheduled for an interview. I want to go home and see my family! Because of this inhumane long wait time I can’t travel and visit them. I’m so frustrated!
Did you file an I-131 and get an advance parole? If so, use it to travel (if you didn't previously violate the terms of a non-immigrant visa).
Or, did you overstay/violate your visa and can't travel until the greencard is approved? If so, then this isn't really inhumane ... you realized you were accepting risks/consequences when you broke your non-immigrant visa.
