Yes I had some people living in my home with me and I had to have them move out that they left their belongings behind I've asked numerous times for them to come and pick your things up and it's been over a month how long do I have to keep their belongings before I can do something with them by law I asked my question your situation
So far, you stand on solid ground since you have repeatedly communicated with the individuals and asked them to come retrieve their things, and also because over a month has passed since your first attempt to properly part with their property. Out of caution, I would send a certified letter to their new address, giving them an additional fourteen (14) days to respond and reclaim the items, otherwise you will consider the property abandoned, and will dispose of it accordingly. Keep copies of the letter you send with your signature showing, as well as the certified mail, return-receipt requested slips that the post office will give you. It will cost about $6.75 or so to mail each letter certified, but the peace of mind you get from erring on the side of caution will be worth it. Best wishes in resolving this very soon; I understand that it is an irritating situation for you.
