How long do I have to file a lawsuit against my landlady for stealing my belongings after a city eviction?

The California Statute of Limitations for conversion is 3-years I believe.
But do NOT wait that long. File a police report immediately and begin pursuing your remedies immediately. Right now your landlord is alive; in business; has active insurance; and the matter is something that can easily be recalled by memory.
My advice would be to document the missing items and file a police report.
