I recieved a Summons and Complaint for my landlord regarding their pending foreclosure. They currently reside out of state the summons says they have 20 days to answer if delivered in person 30 days if left on the door and 60 days if in the united states. I'm just curious as to how long I have in this house from now on? Is it days? Or do I have a month or two before I'll be forced to vacate?
From your question, it appears that you are a tenant. The landlord has the 20 or 30 days to respond. He/she may choose to default, or to concede; or he/she may choose to raise defenses, in which case there may well be motion practice. If it becomes contested in that manner, and if the bank prevails, it would have to conduct the foreclosure sale typically through a referee, which has to be confirmed by the court before the landlord can be dispossessed. You are likely to have a lot more than a month, unless your landlord folds rightaway
