The teen is already seeing a therapist and already on meds. The police were called after the teen (a girl) physically attacked her mom, striking her in the face. Though a report was filed, the teen wasn't removed and the parents now live in fear in their own home.
The parents should call the police each and every time the child may be a danger to herself and/or her parents. If necessary, they can file a request with the Department of Health and Human Services to request a family maintenance plan and the child should be placed into therapy.
This is more of a social services problem than a legal issue. Keep calling the police. If things continue to be out of control the teenager can be held on a 5150 mental evaluation for 72 hours.
Call the police when necessary to respond to your daughter's criminal misconduct but try to be proactive and into a controlled environment. The therapist would certainly be able to devise or recommend one if she were his/her daughter. You may need to change the therapist and definitely need a psychiatrist and, if the psychiatrist is not comfortable with therapy beyond meds, a psychologist. I strongly advise regular drug testing including an initial and infrequent hair drug test (good for at least 3 months).
