My ex has given 4 different address in the past year and 2 different work address.he is also no longer represented by an attorney.i understand that in IL you cannot serve someone yourself.
If you have made every effort to serve your ex and have been unsuccessful, you might need to serve notice by publication. It depends upon what you wish to accomplish, however, as some issues cannot be settled merely with service by publication. If you are the same person who asked earlier and who sent notice to the wrong attorney, then you are in a bit of a bind. If the issue is big (Example: custody or large child support arrearages) then you might wish to hire a private investigator to locate your ex. You would do yourself a service by first spending a little time consulting with an attorney to ascertain how best to proceed. It is possible you are in over your head.
