Was in St. George for work and drove to Mesquite for dinner and drinks. Got caught in speed trap right before the canyon in Arizona jurisdiction where the speed limit decreased significantly and not familiar with area. Accused of drugs and given sobriety test. Passed but told I was 3 times the limit on Breathalyzer (was not shown) vehicle searched without permission and empty alcoholic energy drink can found under seat. NO DRUGS! Taken to Mesquite jail where alcohol level tested and then shown to me which was .05. Booked from 5pm and released on R.O.R noon the next day with court date to be mailed. No food, drink, or phone call offered. Found out my vehicle was sent to St. George and was stranded in Nevada. First time being in trouble with the law and was traumatized. Life events afterward & mental health issues occurred soon after and never received court documents (later found out they had wrong address) More time went by, became frightened and put out of mind. Getting life back on track and want to take care of this. I now have a home and pregnant fiancée, I wish to get my license back and a car. Have not driven since when license suspended and vehicle sold. Please Help
Yes. Wherever the jurisdiction is that actually arrested you, you need an attorney from there to appear in court, get your warrant recalled, and get your case settled. Good luck!
