I need to get a record of the whereabouts of a witness on particular day during which witness allegedly was serving on jury. It is essential for my case. Who do I subpoena? I talked to the office and they gave me no information who to subpoena. Please help.
This may be tough because it is a government record but you can contact jury services at the courthouse and ask them for the address/agent for service of process.
The jury office isn't going to know the names of witnesses who testified in some trial in one of the many courtrooms on a certain day. You are probably going to have to go to the court and ask which courtrooms were hearing trials on the date in question. Then you may be able to look at a list of the cases. Then you probably would need to pull the court case file, and look at the clerks notes in the file which may show what witnesses testified when. If it isn't in there, you may have to call the attys on each of those trials and see if they recognize the witness and if they know when the witness testified in the case. be prepared to spend a lot of time on this. You may want to conduct other discovery to try to get more details to reduce the time you have to spend.
