I recently submitted my papers for expungement last week and was told it will take up to 60 days or longer for my record to be expunged. What proof do i show to a potential employer?
Have your lawyer forward the employer the documentation. If you did this pro se then show the employer everything you filed.
What exactly is it that you want the employer to know? If your record has not been expunged yet, then they should be able to see everything. If you want to prove that the case was dismissed and you are expunging the arrest, then I suppose you would provide them with a copy of motion for expungement that you filed. That motion will have attached to it a copy of your disposition, along with the affidavit you received from FDLE acknowledging your eligibility for having the case expunged. Good luck.
Easiest thing to do would be to have your lawyer write a letter to the employer. Expungement can take anywhere from 60 days to 6 months.
