My family owns several lake lots off of cedar creek lake. Many years ago the city changed half of our street to a new street name and left the other half the way it was. After that, when the next survey was done, they measured the properties from the "new" beginning of our street which was previously the middle of our street which in turn threw off all the property lines and addresses. Now, a property that my late grandfathers house was on and was one of my families lots has been sold through a reality company to a random person under the claims that it isn't one of our lots, but that is according to the wrong survey measurements and i know it is rightfully our property. How do i resolve this issue?
You'd need to consult with a local real estate attorney, bring them whatever records you have of the property and see what they recommend.
Robert Guest is a Kaufman County Criminal Defense Lawyer with offices is Forney, Texas and Rockwall, Texas. My use of Avvo is not intended to form an attorney-client relationship. Avvo is a limited forum and should never be used as a replacement for a consultation with a local lawyer. My answers are not legal advice. You really need a consultation with a local attorney.
Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals.
