I have a no bill felony from 11/98 my car was on pvt prop I was told by detectives I would probably receive an illegal trespassing charge since I never broke in, had nothing of the household on me or in my car. The house was where my ex best friend had lived and she gave a mutual friend a red sofa that she left there so my mutual friend asked if I would carry it to her house down the street to her house. They lived on the same street just about six houses away from eachother so I told her to yes but noticed sofa was too big so I couldn't help her. Anyways, I tried to get a job but couldn't due to me having a felony boh. They didn't care that it was no billed and neither do apt complexes . Why did they lie and put that on my record? And destroy my life because I can't afford to expunge it.
As to why you were charged to begin with, I don't know, but you're certainly not the only one in that position. Sometimes there can be more than one way to look at a situation, sometimes the officer investigating things is just flat out wrong. Regardless, it doesn't affect your current situation--no one needing an expunction just gets one free unless they're acquitted at trial or their identity was falsely used when someone else was arrested. If the case was no-billed, you should have no legal problems getting it expunged, but unless you can get a local legal aid clinic to help you, it's definitely goIng to cost you something. If you'd like to contact me, I might be able to work with you to help you with the costs so that you can find a way to afford to get your case expunged. Good luck.
Ms. Foley is correct. An expungement is what you need to do. Talk with Legal Aid of North Texas on Main Street. They will have the forms to help you. Good Luck.
