I went to court for a super speeder ticket (going 69 in a 45). I pleaded no contest in court and I am 18 years old. Will this suspend my license? I go back on April 4th, what do I need to do to get my $745 ticket reduced? What other things do I need to know in order to get a reduced punishment?
Odd. Under 21 usually courts won't accept a plea of nolo, and keep in mind you only get to use nolo once every 5 years. Yes it will probably result in your licenses being suspended. You need to speak with the Solicitor General's office and whoever is handling your case. They may not (and probably won't) reduce the fine, but you can take a state-approved defensive driving class (cost - $95) that will remove 7 points from your license, and present that certificate to the assistant SG on your case. May be able to prevent suspension, but don't hold your breath re reducing the fine.
