I work at a veterinary hospital. In September, my manager called me in to his office and said that a client had called him and stated that he had fraudelent charges on his credit card statement. The charges were through an airline. The tickets were in my name, a co workers name, and 2 names I have never heard before. The dates of the flight, I was clocked in and working. I attempted to call the Dallas PD but nobody returned my call. I asked my manager about it a few weeks later and he said that he never heard back from the police either. Today I was suspended pending a police investigation. They said that Petsmart is claiming that I placed 9 different online orders under a co workers name. They have video surveilance of me picking up the orders and getting in my car. I do shop at Petsmart quite a bit and I have placed a few (not 9) online orders. However I have never used a different name or fraudulent card. The pics they showed me today show me going into the store and leaving but not necessarily leaving with those orders. I asked for the detectives contact info and was told I am not allowed to have that, they will contact me. I have not been contacted. Please help.
Do not speak to the police without first consulting and retaining an attorney. That is your first step. Interviewing with the detective without counsel could/would be damaging.
Hire a lawyer to represent you now and do not post details of the situation online.
They should be able to trace some details about the purchases and if you get charged, that information will be provided to your lawyer and shared with you.
Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals.
